In partnership with 6Music, BBC Electric Proms commissioned a New Music Short in 2009, by our rising director Keith McCarthy. They asked him to submit a creative idea for a short film inspired by ‘Dog Days Are Over’ by Florence and the Machine. The film was then shown alongside Florence’s BBC Electric Proms performance at the Roundhouse in London. The result is quite amazing.

UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Keith’s film has now been selected for the 7th London Short Film Festival, the 12th Mecal International Short Film Festival in Barcelona and is now also part of Future Shorts ‘The Spirit of Film’ Opposites Attracts World Festival.

Who else could have made this brilliant commercial for Impotence Australia than our very own directing twins, Jonathan and Josh. With a unified sense of aesthetic and style, a meticulous eye for detail and a genuine love for Ms Pacman, this spot maintains their unique output.

Just don’t ask them which one is the Little Fella.

Eric Quennoy, creative director at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, said ‘We were truly inspired by Oscar Pistorius’ spirit and the way he turns conventional wisdom on its head. Like he says in his sporting motto, “you are not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have’.

We like to think this applies to our multi-award winning director Brent Harris. He is also a very able man indeed.

In partnership with the Energy Saving Trust, Hook Films was asked to come up with economical solution for a potentially expensive post production job. Keith McCarthy stepped in with a solution so simple we’re still not sure if he’s a magician or not. Let’s put it this way, everything you are watching is in-camera, using quite a few plastic sheets, a couple of lightpens and a lot of patience.
